Chapter 2 – The Leprechaun Mouse

Plankrun came to find me on the second day of the mouse hunting age, with two traps and two wooden bases. Yes, the perfect equipment I pleased him to prepare for me. After some time of argument and negotiation, we’ve decided to start our hunt at the place where the other soldiers and I first saw the mice, the outskirts of the Town of Gnawnia, using my High Tension Spring trap and his Tacky Glue trap with the wooden bases. As we don’t have enough money, we started out with the town’s cheapest Cheddar cheese. We set up our trap far apart so as to attract more mice. During a night days later, I saw a Dwarf mouse approaching Plankrun’s trap. We shivered and perspired a lot due to excitement, as we watch the Dwarf mouse moving closer and closer to the Cheddar cheese. Moments later, squeaking of the mouse can be heard, as it got stuck on the Tacky Glue trap. But the squeaking lasted longer than expected. We moved forward to Plankrun’s trap and realize the Dwarf mouse was already lying dead. Plankrun cleared the remains and we ran towards the source of the loud squeak. To our surprise, I caught a Leprechaun mouse that was rumoured to carry attractive loots that any hunter would dream of, huge amount of currency of other countries that can be exchanged for a special type of cheese, Super|Brie+. Without hesitation, I ran to my trap and search through the rubble, finding myself a large sum of money that can be traded for fifty Super|Brie+, giving me more than half a month’s worth of my regular allowance. Today’s hunt was a success!
